Grant Application Information


Guidelines for Grant Applications

The mission of the Cedar Grove-Belgium Education Foundation is to expand and enhance the educational opportunities available to the students of the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District.

Who should apply:

Individuals or groups seeking to enhance learning opportunities in the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District are encouraged to apply. The signature of an administrator is required to acknowledge partnership in the receipt of the grant. Additionally, technology requests require approval by the technology committee.

What the Education Foundation will fund:

The Education Foundation will consider projects, programs, materials, equipment or technology that:

- Promote creative and innovative instruction
- Enhance learning
- Affect a large number of students

What the Education Foundation will not fund:

- State required/mandated curriculum
- Building/operational expenses
- Staff positions
- Field Trips

Criteria for selection:

The Education Foundation will consider all requests but the amount and number of grants awarded will be at the discretion of the Cedar Grove-Belgium Education Foundation board members. The criteria for selection will be based on the following:

- How the request will enhance learning
- Level of creativity and innovation
- Number of students impacted
- Amount of funds available
- Number of requests received

Even if a request is not awarded, applicants are still eligible to re-apply in subsequent cycles.

When to apply:

There are 2 application cycles
- November 8th, 2010 - Notification by December 8th, 2010
- May 2nd, 2011 - Notification by June 1st, 2011

How to apply:

Review the grant application guidelines given above, then complete a grant application. Grant applications are also available in the office of each school.


- Approval by administration and technology (if technology related)
- Explanation of how the award will be utilized within your curriculum
- Short report will need to be provided within one year explaining impact of the award on the learning experience of the children (see Award Report).
